History of Exeter Chapel

Exeter Chapel is the fruit of a church-planting vision developed by our mother church, Quidnessett Baptist Church in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

Some historical highlights include:

December 1981 - First exploratory meeting to consider launching a new daughter church from Quidnessett Baptist
April 1982 - Mid-week prayer and Bible study meetings begin at Exeter Firehouse
January 1986 - Exeter Chapel officially covenants as a church
November 1987 - Property is purchased on Route 102 in Exeter, RI
November 1990 - First worship services are conducted in our new facility
October 1994 - Exeter Chapel launches three extension churches
June 2000 - Mortgage on main facility is burned at a special service
May 2004 - Education/administration wing is completed
